Hello! I’m Emily, and I’m excited to share a snippet of my story with you!

Originally from London, I now call Notting Hill home where I love being surrounded by beautiful parks, a plethora of fitness studios and independent stores. As the co-founder of Pow Food and a dedicated student of nutrition and biomedicine at CNM, my passion for food as medicine is deeply rooted in my personal journey of recovery from anorexia, depression, and osteoporosis during my late teens. After a challenging seven-year struggle, I found myself depleted in both mental and physical energy that I was determined to turn around.

At 19, after my last hospital admission, I made a pivotal decision to turn down a place at Cambridge University, where I was set to study Politics, Psychology, and Sociology, and instead went to work on super yachts. This decision marked the beginning of my healing journey, providing me with such extraordinary experiences and the taste of a very different life. It also led me to appear on Below Deck for a season, and live in Florida, where I pursued my training as a nutrition coach.

Throughout my journey I’ve built my social media platforms to share the experiences of running a business whilst raising awareness about mental health, document travels, and collaborate with inspiring brands and individuals. My exploration of spirituality and alternative healing has been an essential part of my recovery, and remains a significant part of my life, especially following the loss of my father to cancer. I believe that our cells carry emotional and physical trauma which can contribute to disease, and it’s within our power to heal ourselves.

In 2017, I returned to London and to launched Pow Food with my mother, our nutrition-focused catering company. The journey of starting a business has been a whirlwind of challenges and triumphs, sleepless nights, diverse decisions, stress and smiles. Five years on, and after navigating a pandemic, we proudly operate as the only female-founded B Corp catering company in the UK, specialising in esteemed workplace catering, and offering a nationwide range of premium, healthy ready meals.

With nearly a decade of experience in nutrition and food, and the privilege of working alongside remarkable nutritionists who supported my recovery, it felt natural to pursue my dream of becoming a nutritionist, which has lead to my latest chapter, I am committed to giving back and making a positive impact in this space, as those who did for me..

Thank you for reading and I look forward to the possibility of working with you!
Emily xx
